A.D.D. (Attention Deficit Disorder)

Attention Deficit Disorders are evaluated primarily through use of behavior rating scales (self, parent, teacher, spouse, etc.) interview for childhood history of difficulties across various environments (home, school, public places), and family history for such problems. We have the Conner's Continuous Performance test, a 15 minute computer test for attention/impulsive problems that can be used to screen for ADD and also help monitor and adjust medications.

Intelligence Testing

The Wechsler Intelligence Test for Children - III (WISC III) is used to help determine the general abilities (IQ) of children ages 6 to 18 years. It is used to help determine giftedness or in making learning disability evaluation.

Learning Disabilities

Learning disabilities are evaluated by comparing general abilities (IQ test scores) with scores from individually administered academic achievement tests. If a discrepancy point between ability and one or more areas of achievement is reached then a learning disability may be diagnosed. Further testing is often used to help differentiate specific learning strengths to guide teachers in helping a child compensate for the learning weakness.

Fitness For Duty

The term "Fitness for Duty Evaluation" refers to any psychiatric or psychological evaluation performed by a neutral (i.e., independent) practitioner who can evaluate the employee's level of functioning and provide a recommendation for treatment and determine their ability to safely and appropriately handle the responsibilities of their job.
